The Patio on Guerra

I had the most delightful dining experience at The Patio on Guerra, all thanks to our exceptional waiter Ruben! From the moment we were sat, he greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel right at home. We started our culinary journey with the steak tapas, and they were simply mouthwatering. But what truly impressed us was Ruben's attentiveness to our preferences. My wife usually isn't a fan of fish unless it's fried, but upon Ruben's recommendation, she decided to try the pan seared Red Snapper. And let me tell you, she was blown away! The Red Snapper was cooked to perfection and had a flavor that left her wanting more. As for me, I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass with red curry sauce on the side, and it was a delightful choice. The fish was incredibly tender and paired beautifully with the red curry sauce. The presentation was impeccable, and every bite was a delight. Overall, our experience at The Patio on Guerra was fantastic, and it was largely thanks to Ruben's outstanding service. His knowledge of the menu and his genuine enthusiasm for the dishes made our evening truly memorable. We will undoubtedly be back soon, eager to enjoy the delicious food and impeccable service once again. Thank you, Ruben, for making our dining experience so exceptional!

Patio on Guerra is easily one of McAllen’s best spots for a nice dinner out. The atmosphere is amazing. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive from start to finish. The food was outstanding. This is the kind of place you go to when you want a great meal and a memorable experience. Highly recommend for date night, special occasions, or just treating yourself.

I love this restaurant! Every year my wife and I celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food is always so delicious and the presentation is also done extremely well. The ribeye steak is always cooked perfectly and melts in your mouth! The atmosphere is nice and cozy makes it very romantic. Always look forward to coming here!

We came here for dinner with my wife and in laws. My wife and I had the cabrito. Both were amazing. Hers was the leg cut, mine the rib, hers had more meat. We also had frog legs and calamari. Both were so damn good. My in laws had chicken dishes, no complaints. My blackberry cocktail was very delicious. I was disappointed with the tres leches.. it had barely any condensed milk sauce. Tres leches by definition has to be soaked in condensed milk. This was a regular pound cake, with decent flavor, not tres leches. Service was very good. Overall great restaurant!

I went there in valentine day 2025. Ordered the tomahawk steak for 2 and it did not disappoint..ordered it medium-well...it was delicious..ask for the pepper corn sauce.. The service was great and the drinks cold. I recommend it for a special occasion. Definitely going back,

Literally, everything I tasted from this restaurant was fantastic . My gf and I had an 8:30 pm. reservation, and we were immediately sat down, so there was no delay whatsoever. We had the 2 crab cakes for an appetizer, and they were delicious. However, the star of the night was my Venison . As soon I took a bite, I sank back into my chair it was incredibly tender and so savory. My babes red snapper was fantastic as well . Since this was her birthday, they even brought her a free piece of cake at the end. This is a great place to celebrate an anniversary or birthday dinner . We will definitely be back!

One of, if not, the best restaurant in McAllen. Not to be missed is the New Zealand Red Stag venison. IMHO this is one of the best cuts of meat in the world. Best cooked rare to medium-rare for tenderness and flavor. Served with a mushroom sauce Fantastic ambience, wonderful service at the bar with Raul. I recommend will return.
